Specific knowledge of how to manage complex projects is a critical success factor in the global market. Knowledge and competent application of different project management techniques are basic prerequisites for the successful management of a project.

This module will give you the opportunity to acquire in-depth knowledge of project management and associated work techniques for the successful leadership of a project. As part of the module, particular attention is paid to the identification and execution of cross-departmental and interdisciplinary tasks.

Within the scope of time and cost planning as well as project monitoring, you will learn how to employ common project management software in a targeted and practical manner. The informed selection of appropriate software solutions, such as knowledge and document management systems, will support your project work and ensure the success of your project. The communication and application of creative problem-solving techniques promotes innovative thinking.

Working on a real project case will give you the opportunity to apply your knowledge and the acquired work techniques in a purposeful and targeted manner.

Upon completion of this module, you will be able to plan, manage and monitor basic as well as more complex projects. Additionally, the students are able to use technical solutions to support project management and to apply creative working techniques to generate ideas.

The module provides intensive preparation for the Project Management Institute’s (PMI) Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) exam.
